It is 1:00 but it feels much later. I have a couple of thoughts lately I'd like to share.
1. To become a taxi driver I think they have to go on a course and show how many times they can come close to death and not kill everyone in the car.
2. I realized this morning as I was making breakfast, that the trucks that drive around with tanks of gas on the back of them sound like the icecream trucks back home.
3. I'm glad I have a washing machine and dryer at home. Here they have concrete sinks outside to wash everything by hand. We hired a maid to do this for us, since I can not get my hand wet with soap. It makes it so much worse.
4. Walking in the college garden, Rich was a head of me. He passed by a bunch of students. He totally got whistled at by several girls, then they saw me and laughed. My husband still has it in him!!!!!!!!!!!!!! or it is also because he is the only white guy with blue eyes in the city :) I choose to think he still has it.
So, Last night I became very home sick. At night is when it all hits me, maybe it is because of the hardest bed I have ever slept in. Ha!!!! It is good to be in a house for Marcelo, but it is harder for me. It is someone elses house with some of their stuff in it, and a home is where my family should all be together. I was saying my prayer expressing my feelings to Heavenly Father when the words of Pres. Hinckley "forget yourself and get to work" came to my mind. So, I am making this public to give myself strength. I am now going to try harder in learning the language and speaking it to more people. I'm going to try and seek more guidance of how the Lord wants meto be and what I need to learn and do while I am here. Hopefully this helps.
I really do love the experience I am having. I love seeing different parts of the world, for some reason this is harder. I am feeling better with my hand and fever and all.
Marcelo is such a good helper. He wants to wash the dishes, set the table, and clear. He did have some of these jobs at the orphanage. He is always joking around and loves to sweet talk especially when he wants something..like...Mom, please can I have another one, beautiful (he says it in spanish) or "mi amor". Rich and I laugh just laugh. He is too funny and very out going once you have met him twice.
Last night we went to the foodstore and in the middle of shopping the lights went out and we had to leave the store without buying anything. They said to come back in 2 and a half hours and the lights will be back on.
This morning we went to the botanical gardens here. This place was so beautiful to walk around. This is when Rich got whistled at. I have to say it gave us both a good laugh and a huge selfesteem boost for Rich :)
We went to Marcelo's favorite place to eat lunch at the ..El Frogon.
I want to send my best wishes to Jayme as she goes through the temple tonight. I wish I could be there with you. May you feel my love with you tonight.
Jill

Way to go Rich! That's awesome! It sounds like Marcelo is going to fit in just great. We can say that he gets his sweet talking from the Bowman side and the smarts to do it so early in a relationship from the Neal's side. :) Ha! I tear up thinking how much you want to be home, but think it is wonderful that you are trying to see what the Lord wants you to fulfill first. The Lord's time is not always our time and sometimes we don't know why till much later. The Lord has reminded me of that several times. Jayme has been in good hands. Tamara of course has been amazingly wonderful, and so many people are pitching in. Love you and I am glad to hear you are feeling better.

Bryanna when were you at home writing this comment??:)ha, jk,well jill if it makes you feel any better, I have cried at times too wishing you were here too:)haha, the kids are great, and love to just run up and give hugs and kisses. Alexander is on day 3 of some leg injury so I gotta run him to the doctor tomorrow. Not suprised, he has been so active around the kids, which is good, but he has fallen off chairs and what not....I expect a full cast by morning:) Glad your hand is doing better. And let Rich Know, that the school of Blind girls doesn't count as being "hit on":) jk, I'm sure somewhere deep down he still has it, and so do you!:) The kids continue to pray for you to come home before christmas at every prayer, but I am sure what is meant to be will happen for good reason. Chau!

We just got home from the temple and you both were missed! Jessica and I sat in a row with two empty chairs. We said they were yours and Jennifer's honorary chairs. Grandma was able to come and was on some pain meds so she was pretty funny. Her goal was to be there and we were so proud of her. Nancy picked her up and was her escort for the evening. Jayme has been battling the flu, so she hadn't eaten all day but she made it and it was such a sweet experience to be together as a family. One of the workers in the celestial room reminded us of Grandma Bowman too . . . . . We'll have to fill you in later. It is FREEZING here but we're having warm thoughts of you! We love you both so much. Love -

Well kids, it is almost 2:20 AM and what a day and night it has been...seems like insanity hits when we least need it...It truly is times like this when you have to find humor in all things and then suck it up and push the cart! :)))) I suspect sometimes you feel like the cart is running you over. I have to admit Tasha gave me the best laugh about the blind girls....sorry Rich, but it's true! :)))) Jill, make sure you get the rest you need to heal. Mom had the impression to talk to Dr. Paige as she was leaving yesterday. I was impressed with Dr. Paiges desire to help in anyway he can. Their are wonderful people all around us...and for that I am grateful. Not sure why all the trials taking place with so many...I am only guessing the Lords work is having a positive effect and he's trying to beat us down...well, we're all worn out with everything that is going on and Jill I love that story from President Hinckley's father...a good reminder when we're dealing with everything about us. Rich, it has been fun touring the country side in your AUDI...yep, got the good news today that I need a new transmission for the Jeep..boy have I change...5 years ago I would have been up there looking for a new truck! :))) But I find it less expensive for the transmission than get in debt for another vehicle..(of course I say that now) HA! The kids are well...poor Mom can't even speak she is so hoarse....sure gets harder with age. :) Keep the faith and keep smiling...I ahve always loved the Lord's counsel to the Prophet Joseph and others to "be of good cheer." We are all blessed with so much...Our thoughts and prayers are with you always. Please be safe and take care of that hand. Love ya's! -Big Daddie- Headed to Angie's presentation in about 5 hours....I am sure she will do well!
